Setting up the Asus VG289Q
The setup in my secondary work location needed a new monitor. I decided for an Asus VG289Q because:
- 4k
- dpi similar to the 1080p in my 14" t14 laptop
- ips
- large enough, but not too large
- saturation can be adjusted (a major problem with many other monitors).
The screen seems to be good, I quite like the relatively high dpi. The monitor stand is somewhat ugly, so I might exchange that for another VESA one.
My settings are:
- User Mode
- Brightness: 55
- Contrast: 80
- Saturation: 42
- Color Temp
- Red: 98
- Green: 95
- Blue: 100
- Skin Tone: Natural
- Sharpness: 50
Everything else is left on default.
DisplayCal also generated a color profile for the monitor. I use gnome tweaks to set the font size to 11, with a scaling factor of 1,45.
